Our Priorities

North Las Vegas is a city of promise, with growing families, expanding businesses, and neighborhoods full of pride, resilience, and opportunity. Building a truly thriving city means making sure growth keeps pace with the rising cost of living, that essential services are accessible and affordable, and that every community benefits from strong leadership and smart investment.

Daniele Monroe-Moreno has spent her life in service, first in uniform with the North Las Vegas Police Department for 20 years, while also partnering in a local small business, and for nearly a decade, representing North Las Vegas in the Nevada State Legislature. She served as Speaker Pro Tempore of the Assembly and Chair of the powerful Ways and Means Committee, she has been at the center of the state’s most important budget and policy decisions. In those leadership roles, she worked across the aisle and coordinated with business leaders, labor, educators, local governments, and federal partners to deliver results for Nevada.

Through these experiences, Daniele has built strong relationships and connections with community leaders, faith organizations, schools, and small businesses across North Las Vegas. She has guided state budgets through both historic surpluses and difficult deficits, bringing people together to solve problems and invest wisely in the future.

Those partnerships and that experience have prepared her to leverage local, state, and federal resources on behalf of North Las Vegas. She brings a fresh perspective, proven leadership, and the determination to deliver results with transparency and accountability.

Affordable Housing & Neighborhood Stability

For a young couple renting their first apartment, a veteran on a fixed income, or a family trying to become homeowners, housing costs and corporate speculation can determine whether North Las Vegas feels like opportunity or uncertainty.

Daniele helped secure tens of millions of dollars for affordable and supportive housing, strengthened the Nevada Supportive Housing Development Fund, and supported eviction diversion programs that keep people housed before a crisis becomes homelessness.

As Mayor, she will use the city’s zoning and development tools to expand affordable housing, protect renters from displacement, crack down on the unchecked growth of corporate ownership that is pricing out hardworking families and preventing them from becoming homeowners, and ensure seniors and working families can stay in the neighborhoods they built, so a new resident can put down roots and a longtime homeowner can age in place with peace of mind.

Daniele’s Legislative Record: AB310 (2023), AB366 (2025), AB475 (2025)

Neighborhood Safety & Security

For a parent letting their child walk to school, a small business owner closing up at night, or a senior who lives alone, feeling safe is a basic expectation.

As a retired Corrections Officer, Daniele understands safety from both the front lines and the community. She strengthened officer training and wellness, protected youth in the justice system, and increased penalties for crimes like mail theft.

As Mayor, she will support police and first responders, expand mental health and crisis response, and strengthen public safety initiatives so residents feel protected, heard, and confident that help is there when they need it.

Daniele’s Legislative Record: AB183 (2019), AB336 (2021), AB111 (2021), AB157 (2021), AB158 (2021), AB272 (2023)

Economic Opportunity & Small Businesses

For a graduate looking for their first job, a parent working two shifts, or a new resident starting a small business, economic opportunity determines whether a fresh start becomes a lasting future.

Daniele expanded access to capital for small businesses, prioritized local Nevada businesses for state contracts, and helped local governments secure federal funds for workforce training and job creation.

As Mayor, she will cut red tape, support entrepreneurs, and connect residents to good-paying jobs so people can work close to home, build careers, and provide for their families without leaving the city.

Daniele’s Legislative Record: AB436 (2017), AB280 (2017), AB489 (2019), AB365 (2021), AB356 (2025)

Healthy Communities & Dignified Aging

For a new mother in need of prenatal care, a worker seeking mental health support, or a senior managing chronic illness, access to nearby, affordable health care shapes quality of life.

Daniele expanded Medicaid coverage for pregnant women, strengthened oversight of birthing centers, and improved maternal mortality review to prevent avoidable tragedies and improve outcomes.

As Mayor, she will work to attract clinics, urgent care, specialty care, and senior wellness services so families do not have to travel far for appointments, and older adults can receive the care and support they need to remain healthy, independent, and connected to their community.

Daniele’s Legislative Record: AB141 (2017), AB169 (2019), AB232 (2019), AB287 (2021), AB189 (2021), AB119 (2021)

Strong Families & Youth

For a family looking to establish roots, a teenager starting their first job, or a young adult saving for their first apartment, the strength of a city is measured by the opportunities it creates and the support it provides. As a mother, grandmother, and longtime community mentor, Daniele Monroe-Moreno believes every person deserves safety, stability, and a fair shot at success.

In the Legislature, she protected working teens against exploitation, expanded access to early childhood education and child care so parents can work, ensured students had access to hygiene products so they can focus on learning, and removed barriers for homeless and foster youth by waiving fees for IDs and birth certificates, helping them enroll in school, find work, and access housing.

As Mayor, she will expand after-school and summer programs, invest in recreation and mentoring, and strengthen community centers so a child has a safe place after school, a working parent has support, and a young adult has pathways to education, training, and a good-paying job.

Daniele’s Legislative Record: AB180 (2017), AB234 (2019), AB363 (2019), AB224 (2021), AB212 (2025), AB215 (2025)

Good Government & Fiscal Responsibility

For a resident paying rent, utilities, and city fees, good government means knowing our tax dollars are spent wisely and services are delivered fairly.

Daniele modernized state financial systems, strengthened oversight of public funds, and helped local governments access grants more efficiently.

As Mayor, she will ensure City Hall is transparent, responsive, and accountable, so residents can trust that decisions are made in the open and that public dollars are invested in services that improve daily life.

Legislative Record: AB235 (2017), AB361 (2023), AB365 (2025)

Building the Premier City to Live, Work, and Play

For a student deciding where to go to college, a family choosing where to buy a home, or a company looking to invest, the reputation of a city matters.

Daniele has been a strong advocate for the continued expansion of Apex Industrial Park as a major logistics and manufacturing hub and in the Legislature supported the elevation of Nevada State University, helping expand access to higher education and workforce training.

As Mayor, she will use those relationships to attract jobs, expand educational pathways, and build vibrant neighborhoods with parks, culture, and opportunity, ensuring that whether someone is just starting out or starting over, North Las Vegas is the place where they can build a future.
